Why we exist

At the core

Gen Z Cares was founded on a deeply personal belief: that every life holds value, and the taking of another should never be treated as acceptable or inevitable. This platform was born from quiet conviction that standing against violence doesn’t require shouting, but it does require showing up.

Beyond the headlines

We exist to amplify compassion in the aftermath of mass violence by connecting people to verified fundraisers created by families and communities most directly affected. Mass violence does not discriminate by background, belief, or political identity, and neither do we. Through this, we help ensure that care isn’t just felt; it’s made visible.

Calm resolve

This isn’t a political movement. It’s a human one. Our mission is rooted in empathy, not agenda. It is built around the belief that action can be meaningful without being loud, and that conscience can still shape the world.

The choice

Gen Z Cares is a space for those who believe that choosing not to participate in harm matters, and that amplifying that choice, quietly and clearly, is its own form of power. The idea began with one young person’s belief that taking another life is morally wrong, and that standing for that belief means choosing care instead of silence.

Why I care

I’ve always believed that taking another life, in any context, is wrong. That belief isn’t political. It’s personal. It shapes how I see the world, what I value, and how I choose to respond when something doesn’t sit right.

My perspective

Gen Z Cares came from that. Over time, I’ve read stories and seen headlines about mass shootings and the families left behind. I didn’t want to look away. I didn’t want to argue. I just wanted to do something. Not perform or post about it, just do something quiet and real.

Still learning

This platform is about that kind of care. It’s about showing up after the violence, not trying to lead the conversation, but helping however we can once the noise fades. I don’t have all the answers. I’m 17, and I know I still have a lot to learn. But I do believe this: standing for life matters, even if it’s quiet. Especially if it’s quiet. Thank you for being here.

How it works

Our role

Gen Z Cares isn’t a charity or a fundraising platform. It is a space designed to amplify care in the aftermath of mass violence by connecting people to verified fundraisers created by the families and communities most directly affected.

When it happens

When tragedy strikes, loved ones or local organizations often create crowdfunding campaigns to help cover funeral costs, recovery expenses, or simply make it through the unimaginable. We highlight a small number of these fundraisers so more people can find them, support them, and show they care.

Feature with care

Unfortunately, we can’t feature every fundraising campaign. As much as we wish we could, our goal is to thoughtfully feature a few at a time, selected for their authenticity, transparency, and closeness to those most directly affected.

Without asking

We don’t run the fundraisers. We don’t move the money. We just give them a place to be seen by the people who want to help but might not know where to look. Gen Z Cares is privately funded, and we don’t take a cut or ask for anything in return. This is simply about showing up, quietly and clearly, when it matters.

Yes. If you’ve started a fundraiser, or know someone who has, and it’s directly tied to an act of mass violence, you can nominate it through our site. We can’t feature every submission, but we read each one carefully.

Gen Z Cares was created by a high school student who believes without compromise that taking another life is never justified. That belief sits at the heart of everything here. For him, this is not political or performative. It’s about showing, in small but real ways, that life matters, even when the world forgets. He built this project to amplify fundraisers created by people directly affected by mass violence, because sometimes the best way to respond to tragedy is with care that is quiet, honest, and deeply human. The site is personally and privately funded, including all costs tied to building, maintaining, and protecting this space.

We don’t fundraise for ourselves or ask for donations. If someone wants to support what we’re doing, they can choose to contribute through Ko-fi. But that is entirely optional.
